I traveled to Kinmen recently to Claire & Fu-Kai wedding…
My friends here in Taiwan had warned me : it’s cold! and yes indeed it is cold, but the warmth of people in Kinmen more than make up for it!
The praying plays an important part in wedding ceremonies in Kinmen, and even though it doesn’t last as long as it used to do, Claire, Fu-kai, his father and grand-mum spent most of the morning paying respect to their ancestors.
Details…
Fu-Kai’s dad
Money burning…
The house where Fu-Kai’s dad grew up
the walls on the outside still carry the marks of the bombings that the island suffered for many years.
Fu-Kai’s dad first motorbike still remains in the old house.
A traditional family photo, the kind you keep for generations, that never ages, honest and direct, just like them.

Fu-Kai and his students.
Fu-Kai got some help from Claire’s sister.
While they were waiting to come in the banquet with Claire’s second dress.
Cheering with Kinmen Kaoliang of course!
The two dads!
After the wedding we took some time to go around Kinmen…
The landmark shot!
Kiss number one…
…and kiss number two…
Twirling…
Just walking together…
Of course we took a souvenir photo!
If I had only one photo to describe Claire and Fu-Kai I would without a doubt choose this one!
This is how I remember them : a wonderful happy couple and now I’m happy to say very good friends.
Have a fantastic day, go and visit Kinmen!
